ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival in Leh

• Arrival: Arrive in Leh, the capital of Ladakh.
• Acclimatization: Spend the day acclimatizing to the high altitude.
• Explore: Take a leisurely walk around Leh, visit local markets, and see places like the Leh Palace or Shanti Stupa if time permits.
• Overnight: Stay in Leh.

Day 2: Leh to Magnetic Hill to Gurudwara pathar sahib

Morning: Departure from Leh

1. Start Early: Firstly do  your breakfast at your hotel .After breakfast depart from leh
   • Departure Time: Aim to leave Leh by 7:00 AM to make the most of your day.
   • Distance from Leh: ~30 km
   • Travel Time: ~1 hour
   • Highlights: Magnetic Hill is famous for its optical illusion where vehicles appear to roll uphill against gravity. Stop here to experience the phenomenon and take some photos.

Mid-Morning: Head to Gurudwara Pathar Sahib

1. Travel to Gurudwara Pathar Sahib:
   • Distance from Magnetic Hill: ~25 km
   • Travel Time: ~30-40 minutes
   • Route: Drive towards Gurudwara Pathar Sahib. The route will take you along the Leh-Srinagar Highway.
2. Visit Gurudwara Pathar Sahib:
   • Arrival Time: Around 9:00-10:00 AM
   • Highlights: Gurudwara Pathar Sahib is a revered Sikh pilgrimage site located at an altitude of 3,600 meters (11,800 feet). It’s associated with Guru Nanak, who is believed to have visited the site during his travels. The Gurudwara is known for its peaceful atmosphere and the rock with an imprint of the Guru’s back.
   • Activities: You can explore the Gurudwara, participate in the Langar (community meal), and spend some time in meditation or prayer.

Afternoon: Explore the Surroundings and Return to Leh

1. Lunch:
   • Options: You can have a meal at the Gurudwara (Langar is usually served) or at a local restaurant on the way back to Leh.
2. Return to Leh:
   • Departure Time: Around 12:30-1:00 PM
   • Travel Time: ~1.5 hours
   • Highlights: Enjoy the scenic drive back, taking in the beautiful landscapes and views.

Late Afternoon/Evening: Arrival in Leh

1. Arrival in Leh:
   • Time: Around 3:00-4:00 PM, depending on the time spent at each location.
   • Activities: You can use the remaining time to relax, explore local markets, or visit nearby attractions like Leh Palace or Shanti Stupa if you have any energy left.
2. Late Eveing : Return back to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

  Day 3: Leh to Nubra Valley

• Distance: ~120 km
• Route: Ride to Nubra Valley via Khardung La Pass, one of the highest motorable passes in the world.
• Highlights: Enjoy the breathtaking views from Khardung La, explore the sand dunes of Hunder, and visit Diskit Monastery.
• Overnight: Stay in Nubra Valley

Day 4: Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake

• Distance: ~150 km
• Route: Ride from Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake.
• Highlights: Enjoy the stunning drive through Shyok Valley and reach Pangong Lake, renowned for its crystal-clear blue waters and mesmerizing views.
• Overnight: Stay near Pangong Lake into your accommodation.

Day 5: Pangong Lake to Leh

• Distance: ~220 km
• Route: Ride back to Leh from Pangong Lake.
• : Morning: Departure from Pangong Lake
• Start Early: After breakfast at your hotel depart for leh
• Departure Time: Aim to leave Pangong Lake by 7:00 AM to make the most of your day.
• Drive to Leh:
• Distance: ~220 km
• Travel Time: ~6-8 hours (including stops)
• Route: The route will take you through scenic mountain roads and high-altitude passes like Chang La.
• Mid-Morning: Rancho’s School
• Arrive at Rancho’s School:
• Location: The school featured in the Bollywood film “3 Idiots,” located in the village of Thiksey.
• Arrival Time: Around 10:30 AM
• Highlights: Visit the Druk White Lotus School (also known as Rancho’s School). Explore the picturesque school campus and learn about its contribution to education in the region.
• Duration: Spend about 30 minutes to 1 hour exploring the school and its surroundings.
• Late Morning: Shey Monastery
• Drive to Shey Monastery:
• Distance from Rancho’s School: ~25 km
• Travel Time: ~30-40 minutes
• Arrival Time: Around 12:00 PM
• Explore Shey Monastery:
• Highlights: Shey Monastery is an ancient monastery known for its large copper-gilt statue of Buddha Shakyamuni and its beautiful surroundings.
• Activities: Explore the monastery, take in the panoramic views of the valley, and learn about its historical and cultural significance.
• Duration: Spend around 45 minutes to 1 hour here.
• Afternoon: Thiksey Monastery
• Drive to Thiksey Monastery:
• Distance from Shey Monastery: ~20 km
• Travel Time: ~30 minutes
• Arrival Time: Around 1:00 PM
• Visit Thiksey Monastery:
• Highlights: Thiksey Monastery is one of the largest and most impressive monasteries in Ladakh. It features a stunning 15-meter-high statue of Maitreya Buddha and offers breathtaking views of the Indus Valley.
• Activities: Explore the monastery, visit its various halls and temples, and enjoy the serene environment.
• Duration: Spend around 1 to 1.5 hours here.
• Lunch:
• Options: You can have lunch at a local restaurant in Thiksey or Leh, depending on your preference and time.
• Late Afternoon: Return to Leh
• Drive Back to Leh:
• Departure Time: Around 2:30-3:00 PM
• Arrival Time: Around 4:30-5:00 PM
• Evening in Leh:
• Activities: Once back in Leh, you can relax, explore local markets, or visit other local attractions if time permits.
• Highlights: Enjoy the scenic drive back with views of the mountains and valleys. If time permits, explore any remaining spots in Leh.
• Overnight: Stay  at your hotel in Leh.

Day6: Depart from Ladakh  to Ladakh Airport
